Julius Fleischmann

Cincinnati Mayor Julius Fleischmann played a pivotal role in the early development of the university’s football stadium by donating $2,000 toward its construction. Despite his significant contribution, it still took five years to raise the remaining funds, with total estimated costs coming to $4,650. Thanks to his support, work began in 1901 with the construction of wooden bleachers, and that same year, Cincinnati football held its first game in Clifton.
